Steps

  1. Step One

    Preheat

Preheat French press with hot water. Once heated, empty out water.

  2. Step Two

    Coffee & Water

Add all coffee and place french press on scales. Start timer as you begin a 10 second pour of water (all 250g) onto grounds. Allow steep for 4 minutes.

  3. Step Three

    Break Crust

At four minutes, break the crust by pushing spoon across the surface three times over 5 seconds.

  4. Step Four

    Clear Crust

Use 2 spoons to clear the crust from the surface over 10 seconds. Allow to cool for a further 5 minutes.

  5. Step Five

    Plunge Slowly

Push plunger down very slowly for 10 seconds.

  6. Step Six

    Serve

Pour the entire brew into preheated cups or vessel. Do not leave brewed coffee in french press, as it will continue to extract and become bitter.
